Clean Invest Africa Plc (CIA), the NEX Exchange quoted clean technology and renewable energy investment company, has announced that its first investment would be in CoalTech LLC and Coal Agglomeration South Africa (Pty) Ltd.
CoalTech President Filippo Fantechi is delighted to receive this announcement.
“We feel honored that CIA is keen to invest in our technology given that they are focused on investing in clean energy technologies through their socially responsible investment vehicle, and to be chosen as their first investment portrays significant trust in us and our technology.
We developed the pelletizing technology at Coaltech through extensive research and development over the past 5 years, with an ambition to establish ourselves as the world’s eminent clean technology solution of waste coal fines. CIA’s announcement is indeed a reward for our efforts. The investment by CIA will help us to overcome the environmental issue within the coal industry through on-site remediation technology to coal mines and coal utilization sites across all the major coal producing countries in Africa and beyond.
Through this investment, the shareholders of CIA will receive exposure to our technology for remediation of coal fines and in turn we will receive significant support to develop and commercialize this technology further.”
CIA is excited about CoalTech’s demonstrated ability to create a saleable and transportable energy product from waste.
Sam Preece, Executive Director of CIA, believes that CoalTech’s proprietary technology offers a novel solution to environmentally damaging waste coal fines that has wide potential across coal producing countries and developing a commercially sustainable model will maximize the positive environmental impact and address a wide-spread waste and legacy contamination issue.
We look forward to this association with CIA as we progress in this exciting area of clean technology. More about CoalTech and our technology can be found on the company website www.coaltechenergy.com
